Seven Supplements You Should be Taking Every Day

The majority of adults in the United States take one or more dietary supplements on a regular or semi-regular basis. Dietary supplements come in various of forms including pill form, powders, as well as drinks and energy bars. If your diet is lacking a nutritious variety of foods, supplementing can help you get adequate amounts of essential nutrients. When you’re on a training regimen, it is even more important to make sure your body has everything it needs to stay strong, healthy and recover to the best of its ability. Supplements are a great way to achieve this, but they can be tricky. If not ingested in correct form or in the right amounts, your body may pass them through as waste, which is basically money down the drain. (Literally) For this reason, you want to make sure you pay attention to the recommended serving per day and break it up appropriately between morning and night. Read more

Now, before we dig into this, I’m asking you to have an open mind. I know that for a lot of people, as soon as the word “meditation” comes up, your mind automatically goes to a place of weird, tree-hugger, spiritual guru nonsense… But listen, I’m telling you there is really something to this. So, here’s the dilemma… Sunday I leave for Siesta Key for a family wedding and get this – my resort doesn’t have a gym! (*Ahhh panicking!*Determined, I set out to invent a workout that I could do right in my room, on the balcony, or on the beach. The workout you’re about to read is intense. It can be done with or without dumbbells, and you can also use a resistance band. And if you’re wondering if I’m actually going to go through the hassle of packing dumbbells or a resistance band in my suitcase, the answer is yes. Yes, I most certainly am. Anyway, here is what I came up with:

Overcome Your Fitness Plateau

20140512-113107.jpg

In honor of “Transformation Tuesday”, I elected to examine the fitness progress I’ve made just within the past year. I was anticipating the visual comparison since I haven’t lost any weight and my problem areas still bother me. However, I knew I had been doing some things differently to prevail over my plateau so my curiosity was peaked. The fact of the matter is that I’ve always been very fit. Fitness has always been a top priority and if you asked anyone this time last year, I’m sure they would’ve considered me a “fit” girl. I worked out almost every day and was in good shape. (Especially considering I sit at a desk for a living) Boy, am I glad I didn’t settle for mediocrity. Just in the past year, my thighs and buns have tightened up significantly, my abs are more defined, I have increased strength and endurance, and overall everything is more lifted and firm. The most exciting part is knowing I will be in even better shape next year! Here is my advice if you are struggling with a fitness plateau: Read more

Virgin Blogger

Well, I did it. I finally started my lifestyle blog. Aside from the desperate need to escape all of the drama and stupidity associated with that little thing called Facebook, I wanted to start a blog to share some of the knowledge I’ve picked up over the years. Because you know, like most women, when I’m right- I’m right. And when it comes to Fitness, Health, Beauty, and Lifestyle tips, I’m always right. Right? Mhmmmm smile and nod! 😉

But in all seriousness, the truth of the matter is that with the modern woman’s busy schedule in today’s society, it’s hard to juggle a career, family, social life, and stay mentally and physically healthy, fit and glamorous! Hell it’s hard enough trying to find time to wash our hair! But on top of that, we’re supposed to find healthy food alternatives, maintain impossibly youthful radiant skin, have perfect hair, get enough sleep, and find time to exercise enough so that our asses don’t hit the ground! Let’s face it ladies, we’re not getting any younger!

That’s why I decided to share some of my tricks of the trade with all of the fellow busy modern women out there.

First, let me give you a little background about yours truly:

My 8-5 career is in Marketing & Client Services for the largest Commercial Real Estate Company in the world, so I understand the pressures of a demanding job. I commute roughly 3 hours a day total, so I understand the “lack of free time” problem that a lot of people face. I’m a huge animal lover, which resulted in my choice to go vegan in 2011 and I’ve never looked back. I’m also learning more and more every day about the health benefits of that choice. My passion is Fitness (working out 6-7 days a week), and I’m always looking for the latest craze in the way of Beauty Products.

The goal of this blog is to post my latest beauty finds, since sadly the Fountain of Youth isn’t a real thing *sigh* … Share some of my delicious vegan recipes, and update all of the fitness enthusiasts out there with the best health and fitness tips to stay forever fab!

Follow me and receive all of my latest updates!

Until next time!
